Technological improvements are a part of sports

Re: “Athletes and technology,” July 30 editorial. When I read your editorial regarding new swimsuits ruining the sport, I laughed out loud. Improvements are a constant event in sports. Look at the shoes track stars wear. I’d hazard a guess that today’s shoes are much better than those worn by Jesse Owens. Look at baseball; players wear mitts that actually have a place for all of the fingers. The hardness of the ball changed. In tennis there are better racquets. Golf has better balls and club
